We can live out what we want to see in the world
True diplomacy = safety
We have to decide what work is ours.
The world we build will need a greater focus on care
Saying no is saying yes to your work, to what you need and what you want.
Sometimes curiosity doesn’t feel safe; just opening the news…
Life provides some cruel limits
Overwhelm shuts us down
Example - we’re not here to service the machine
Curiosity just requires that you turn your head an inch

We can live out what we want to see in the world
When life gets overwhelming and you get to the point of spiraling out in despair, we can also choose to live out what we want to see in the world. We can embody that in our life, to everyone we meet. We can’t control all the bad stuff happening, but we can choose how we show up in our daily interactions.

Better to care than be right
As we begin thinking about imagining a new world, we need to be focused on prioritizing care about others, and less on adjudicating right and wrong.
As we begin thinking about imagining a new world, we need to be focused on prioritizing care about others, and less on adjudicating right and wrong.
Imagination creates the limits of our world and we have to use our imagination to expand and improve things.
We can dream up new ways of being and care, to replace the systems of white supremacist capitalism.
Dreams as portals
N. K. Jemisin uses her dreams as portals into hidden worlds. She works with them until there’s enough to write a narrative into.
