Attuned relationships include rupture and repair


In attuned relationships—especially between a parent and child—we are aware of others changing autonomic needs in ways that allow us to be flexible and responsive. In the event of a rupture (or mismatch of states), the key is in the repair. This is what allows for a “regulated, flexible, and resilient system.
